www.elizachengart.comELIZA CHENG鄭慧華  A Hong Kong born Chinese, Eliza studied in her homeland, then England.  Upon return, she worked as a management consultant before making a career turn to become a full time artist.  In summer 2011, she graduated from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco with an MFA in Painting – Non-figurative.
In the early years of her art career since 1998, Eliza developed solid technical background in painting learning with a Chinese master.  Later, through her MFA studies in which she delved into abstract art, she boldly creates and expresses, integrates concepts and bridges pictorial elements.  In recent years, the bodies of her art have embraced a major shift from representational roots to conceptual compositions and abstract expressionism.
As a professional artist, Eliza has had solo exhibitions in Hong Kong and US.  She also exhibits annually with Artists Abroad, an established Hong Kong-based international art group; Eliza has been a member and Treasurer since 2002.  She actively participates in various local and overseas community projects as well as artist-in-residency programs.  Between 2011 and 2016, a few of her abstract art pieces won awards at different juried competitions.  Being a multi-disciplinary artist, she has been doing commissioned work for private collectors as well as corporations.  Eliza currently lives in Hong Kong where she teaches private art classes at her own atelier.  With a management and education consultancy background, she also offers management advice to individual artists and schools.  In the past year, she also sits on the board of an NGO advising on arts programs, policies and booking facilities.

FUSION “My Land_Sea_Sky series of oil paintings continues to expand the horizon where elements meet. Water, waves, wind, clouds … they fuse and settle to their surroundings, but occasionally clash dramatically to create unexpected colours and textures. Even as gentle as forests and woods on dry grounds, they happily join in the fun to celebrate a change of season.
